The full-service brokerage was established in February of 2020 by current broker/owner Michelle Barney. Barney originally joined the real estate industry as an Administrative Clerk for a custom home builder and developer in 2004. While working there she obtained her real estate license and became the Project Manager, responsible for completing an entire home-building subdivision. In 2008, Barney started selling resale properties while pursuing a broker’s license and property management certification. Fast forward to 2020, Barney officially opened the doors of her own brokerage only one month before the pandemic, quickly forcing her to learn how to navigate crises and instill confidence and knowledge in her clients and affiliated agents, despite difficult circumstances.
Barney has since become a staple of the Northern Nevada real estate community, currently serving on the Sierra Nevada REALTORS® Board of Directors, as well as serving as the Vice President for the Fernley Chamber of Commerce and on the Fernley Main Street Board of Directors. These strong local ties combined with her background in property management, home building, and sales have allowed her to lead her firm to become a premier residential real estate service provider from Fernley to Reno.
Now doing business as CENTURY 21 Prime, Barney and her independent sales professionals will have access to the CENTURY 21® brand’s world-class technology and marketing, lead generation, and agent learning and coaching. Barney plans to leverage these tools to not only enhance her affiliated agents’ capabilities, but also to recruit additional agents with the goal of increasing her company’s size within the next year. Shortly thereafter, she hopes to use her increased bandwidth to pursue future business acquisitions.
